All work and no play makes jack a dull boy...

Tired... Bloody tired...

Sleep is for the weak, eh? Well, that's one way my life and work seem to agree...

Saw an awesome movie last inght again... Cube... I love the morals and Ideals it represents, how it shows how easily a single element can get cuaght up in the tyrany and corruption of the whole... Wonderfully crafted movie... And plus, it's Canadian.

As brutal as it is to say, the idea has some benificial elements. Firstly, in a tyrantic state, the population is usually massively cowed or completely unaware of what is going on around them... and the best way to keep a civilian populance at bay is to keep them distracted. What better way to rid one's state from both criminals and keep the people entertained by but building a gigantic maze full of traps.... a little brutal, but entertaining, no? It's been done before...

Take the Romans, for example. The gladatorial games of rome were a captivating point for citizens across the empire, and, more importantly, IT KEPT THE POPULATION UNDER CONTROLL. The second tributary element it gave was a vent for violence, which is another gigantic asset to civil disruptiveness. With these vents in place, the population could take out the brutality of the ruling class without having to be subjugated to harm...

Sort of like action movies, if you think about it.

The third, and most important factor of these games is it made a very important commodity... Heros. Fighters of skill and legend, taking on wild animals and fierce beasts, it brings the epicness of thier entire mytghological systems to bear and to light...

The fourth, most important factor it releases is a for of voyarism, that, although not neccisarily publically recognised, we as a entire race enjoy. To be able to witness this carnage and have absolutly no danger proposed to ourselves, and leave the event with a personal feeling of grandious, as if YOU participated in that battle, fought beside soldiers, and died amoungst ranks... It's a feeling of belonging that not many of us ever get.

And I appear to have tangented...

Well, other then no sleep and work it's all boredome...

Talk at ya later...
